Things to Do

Horse Riding

There are a few local stables and liveries within a 5 mile radius of the campsite, lessons and days out can be organised

Hiking

Roe Valley where Swanns Bridge is situated is in a geographical basin and is surrounded by the local mountain range which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Swanns Bridge is no less than 600 yards from the base of Binevenagh Mountain, it boasts views overlooking Donegal, Lough Foyle, Benone beach and the Roe Valley. We even have our very own Celtic sea god Manannán Mac Lir at the top looking over us at the Gortmore view point.

The local mountains and forests offer many days exploring and adventure, many of the trails are suited to mountain bikes as well.

Cycling

Swanns Bridge is right in the centre of a very popular cycling area from off road mountain biking, touring bikes, road racing to time trials. We have something to suit everybody’s preferred riding styles.

River Fishing

We are based right next to the River Roe you can’t get much closer. The River Roe is one of the major salmon and sea trout Rivers in the Foyle catchment area, with its head waters in the Sperrins close to the Glenshane Pass it flows down through the Roe Valley past the campsite at Swanns Bridge to enter Lough Foyle.Access to a disabled anglers jetty is also available.”

Water Based Activities

As we are very close to Benone blue flag beach and the river roe there are quite a few water based activities you can try out. We can organise kayaking, canoeing, surfing, raft building, hover crafting, and stand up paddle boarding. All this is right on the campsites doorstep.
